i used adjustment layers to give the smoke a reddish tint. i also used them to give the girl's skin a brighter look as if its being iluminated by the fire. up close is the fire and smoke which is crisp and bright in colour, in the middle is the girl, she's less in focus as the fire and in the back and the trees in the back are far off and fuzzy.

the message behind my poster is that if you want your life to get better you have to be willing to make it better, rather than waiting around for things to change. i got my idea for this poster from the song "Stop the Dams" by Gorillaz. i made the roster look like what it stands for by using the intensity of the shape and color of the sun when photographed from space to symbolize how you need to take charge in your own life which takes strength to be able to do.

i used the butterfly as the main idea for this shirt because of the changes the creature has to go through to become a butterfly. i used this to support my theme of change and personal growth that comes with graduations. on the front i put butterfly wings behind the clocktower of the academy building which shows how the school has helped many of its students recognize their talents and full potential. the back is a depiction of a butterfly emerging from its chrysalis, which also helps visualize the theme of growth.

The main focus of each of these is the presence of the sun or the biggest circle in each picture. The way the "sun" stands out in this one is how the lines all lead into the center of the "sun" and how the thick dark lines of the circle contrast with the lighter background. the way this connects to my theme of "Growth" is how this shows the setting of the sun symbolizing how sometimes we notice our lives heading down a difficult path.
Symbolically the focus is the absence of the sun which connects to growth by symbolizing how after the sun sets it starts to make us feel lost. the artistic focus which is the largest circle in the upper right corner helps symbolize that even though the sun is gone we can still look up and se the stars. the stars being small good things that happen in the midst of a seemingly dark spot in our lives. The big "star" is made to be emphasized by its bright white color in front of the dark background and how some of the shooting stars kind of aim away from it.
The focus in this is the largest white circle on the top. its emphasized by its larger size and its white color. this image symbolizes the sunrise after a dark night which connects to the theme of growth by showing that even after a bad time in your life, things will always start to get better.
the emphasis in this is the yellow center of the large yellowish green circle. It becomes the focal point because of its bright yellow center and how the lines are placed behind it draw your eye right to it. I let the use of color help emphasize the idea of breaking out of a difficult point in your life and growing to realize that even when things seem most dark that the sun ill always come up again.
